The Tameside Locality is seeking to appoint to the post of Deputy Place Based Lead.
Alongside the Place Lead for Health and Care Integration the post holder will be responsible for driving the local integration of health and social care and connecting that to wider public services to address the social determinants of health, with the purpose of improving health outcomes, improving the quality of care, reducing health inequalities and maximising the value of public resources.
In collaboration with partners, the post holder will be required to co-design and lead transformational change across the Tameside Locality and at a neighbourhood level, ensuring that all partners and stakeholders are effectively engaged. This will include collaborating effectively with senior executives from health and local government, political leaders, elected members, clinical leaders, regulators and a range of diverse stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and operational management of the Tameside Locality team. In collaboration with colleagues across Greater Manchester (GM), the Place Lead and partners within the locality, the post holder will lead the delivery of relevant GM strategies within Tameside taking into account the allocated resources. The post holder will be required to represent the Tameside Locality at fora across GM, ensuring that the specific needs of the local population are effectively communicated and considered in the context of wider GM discussions. The post holder will demonstrate the ability to positively influence strategic decisions which may be required at both a locality and GM level. Demonstrating highly developed communication skills using a range of methods, and possessing a high degree of political awareness, the post holder will be confident and competent in working alongside senior executives, clinical teams and with a range of diverse stakeholders.
This pivotal role will work with partners to commission cost effective services that reflect the needs of the population and support delivery of the GM Sustainability Plan and other local initiatives. This will require the post holder to analyse and interpret complex data and utilise this to inform complex decision-making processes.

• A deep understanding of the NHS triple aim (of improved population health, quality of care and cost-control) and commitment to the values of the NHS Long Term Plan, the NHS People Plan, Nolan principles.

• Comprehensive experience of chairing complex professional meetings at a very senior level in a collaborative, efficient and effective manner.
• Considerable experience of navigating politically sensitive situations and environments
• Broad experience of working across agency and professional boundaries, collaboratively with other stakeholders to commission services and consult on transformation initiatives.
• Experience of developing effective governance structures/processes and implementing these ensuring they address issues, including underperformance and balance the competing objectives of quality, operational performance, and finance
• Track record of promoting Equality Diversity and Inclusion in leadership roles at Committee level and across systems.
