Are you a highly motivated professional to work as a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist, (or Band 7 to progress to band 8a), to work within the established and supportive Learning Disability Community Team, based in East Cheshire?
We work across two office bases in Macclesfield and Crewe.
Our service provides person-centred support to people with learning disabilities, who may also experience co-morbid mental health difficulties, behaviour that challenges and/ or autism and offers a full multi-disciplinary approach. and this post will be integral to this team.
Do you have had significant experience working with people with learning disabilities and be able to demonstrate leadership experience and qualities and are looking to ensure the most appropriate psychological interventions are offered in a timely manner and with service user satisfaction at the core of this?
Access to transport for work purposes is essential as the post holder will be required to travel as part of their role.
We are recruiting for 1 part time post, 22.5 hr per week, 3 days, however, if you are interested in applying but would require an adjustment to these hours, please state the requested adjustment in your supporting information on the application.

You will provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention in order to facilitate positive change and enhance quality in the lives of people with learning disabilities, through direct and indirect therapeutic support.
You will be adaptable in working across a range of community settings, including people’s homes and will supervise and support junior members of the team and clinical psychology trainees.
You will benefit from being part of a forward thinking and supportive multi-disciplianry team including psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists.
A commitment to quality improvement initiatives and research is essential as we also host the Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID).

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
