An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Bank Coordinator Team Leader to the Bank and E-Roster Team in Glien Carmarthenshire on a 6 month fixed term contract. Secondments welcome if authorisation has been approved by current manager prior to interview.
The role will include working closely with the Nurse Bank Team Leader and Senior Workforce Manager: Bank & E-Roster, providing a supervisor role across two teams, whilst maintaining confidentiality and having professional integrity with sensitive information.
To work autonomously to coordinate the additional staffing requirements of the wards and departments within the Health Board using the computerised Allocate Nurse Bank Management System.
To assess priority and urgency of each shift and use initiative to prioritise shift cover requests from the wards
To adhere to the Bank and Agency policies and guidelines.
To supervise the bank coordination team

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person with experience of working as part of a team. Previous NHS experience would be welcomed.
The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be competent in independently organising their daily work schedule, whilst being able to work well under pressure.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.
Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure all the team complies strictly with Hywel Dda Health Board Policies and procedures regarding the booking of bank and agency nurses.
Coordinate staffing levels for the Bank Office and report any deficits to the Nurse Bank and Rostering Manager so that additional support can be sought
Assist with any administrative duties.
Participate in annual performance reviews.
Supervise, motivate and train the team in the rostering and coordination of available bank nurses to cover all identified shift requests from wards and departments matching availability with staffing requirements, using the computerised Allocate Nurse Bank Management system.
Identify and agree in conjunction with the Nurse Bank and Rostering Manager, the appraisal, training and development needs of the team.
Coordinate the annual leave entitlement of the Nurse Bank Coordinators within their entitlement before submitting to Nurse Bank and Rostering Manager for authorisation
Participate in the orientation and training of any new member of the team.
Assist the Nurse Bank and Rostering Manager in maintaining sickness and absence records of Bank Admin team
Negotiate with Ward sisters and arrange orientation shifts for any new member of staff following the Health Board’s induction programme.
