Job overview
This application is for the post of Trust Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia at University College Hospitals NHS Trust commencing 6th August 2025. The post is offered on a 12-month fixed term basis provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven candidate to join a progressive and dynamic department. They will contribute to developing our goals of clinical excellence, training of the highest quality in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine and world class research.
We offer a wide range of clinical fellowships, supervised by experts in their field. These include:
1) *Regional Anaesthesia
2) Airway
3) Thoracic Anaesthesia
4) Complex Major Surgery/Bariatrics
5) Obstetric Anaesthesia
6) Clinical Fellowship in Prehabilitation and Preoperative Optimization
Subspecialty posts may be limited or full for this start date (marked *) and you may be offered an alternative, including a General post. Bespoke fellowships may be accommodated, dependent on availability

Advert
The post is for a clinical fellowship and will involve a majority of clinical sessions (at least 50%) in the chosen fellowship. This will be combined with sessions in other areas of personal interest and department needs. Fellows will also be given the opportunity to run appropriate elective lists independently to build their practice.
The post provides half a day per week for research, education and management. Fellows will be encouraged and expected to contribute to the department by engaging in quality improvement, audits, teaching or research, and will be supported to do so. The candidate sought will be self-driven and proactive.
On call commitments are typically 1 in 9, covering theatres and/or the labour ward. Where the on call rota is full, an alternative rota will apply – this will be discussed beforehand should it apply.

- Familiarity with routine and complex airway management
- Familiarity with invasive monitoring
- Neuroaxial blockade
Clinical Knowledge

- Experience of a anaesthetising for a wide variety of surgery in patients with multiple co morbidities
Audit, Quality Improvement, Management & IT
