JOB SUMMARY
- We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our health visiting team, supporting children and families within a defined community. This role focuses on improving health and life outcomes by delivering care packages following assessment by a Health Visitor.
- As part of the team, you will support Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses in delivering the Healthy Child Programme (0-5 yrs) in the London Borough of Bromley, in line with the service’s commissioned criteria.
- This is a fixed-term position for a minimum of 12 mths, ideal for individuals with a strong interest in children's public health nursing who aspire to a career in Health Visiting
- During your time in this role, you will gain high-quality exposure and training, preparing you to apply for a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) programme in September 2026, either internally or externally through Bromley Healthcare FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
- If you choose to apply for the SCPHN programme, you must submit a formal application, as this role does not guarantee acceptance. The programme is taught at Level 7 (Master’s level), and applicants should be prepared for the academic rigor involved. The selection process is highly competitive, and candidates will need to attend an additional interview in 2026

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse or Midwife
- Prepared to undertake further training, both core to role and as part of ongoing continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
- Other relevant post registration education / training
Experience
Essential criteria
- A keen interest in Public Health Nursing / Community work
- Post-graduate experience working in either Nursing or Midwifery
- Commitment to apply for and commence a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing programme 12 months after commencement of this post
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff and clients
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Midwifery or Obstetrics
- Experience of working as part of a community based team
- Experience in delivering health promotion based activities and interventions
