Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.
Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Our merger provides a once in a generation opportunity to build a lasting, world-renowned heart and lung centre, providing the highest quality care for patients and conducting world-leading research.

Are you an experienced band 2 nursing assistant looking for a challenge and interested in working in an exciting and rewarding hospital?
Are you already a band 3 Senior nursing assistant who would like to challenge themselves to a different environment?
We are recruiting to a number of full time vacancies across the trust, including, wards, out patients and theatres.
We are looking for motivated individuals who are caring and kind to join our fantastic teams.
You will be expected to work with the wider multi-disciplinary team and support junior colleagues such as nursing assistants and student nurses.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, experienced nursing assistants. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills.
Team work is very important to us - you will be joining a committed teams across the trust so being a team player is essential.
We really value our Nursing Assistants' role in our ability to provide holistic care to our patients. You will need a flexible approach, be dedicated and able to role model an excellent level of patient care and experience. We actively support the buddy programme and other opportunities to develop further.
In order to be part of our Senior Nursing Assistant (Band 3) team, we would like you to have the following qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital setting
- GSCE Maths and English Desirable
- Good standard of literacy and numerical skills is essential
- NVQ III in Healthcare and or a completed Care Certificate Programme which is an essential criterion for this role
- A calm and kind approach
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills in caring for complex patients with medical conditions.

- To assist under supervision in the delivery of fundamental nursing care and a range of clinical duties in liaison with the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective and efficient running of the ward/ service.
- To contribute to the implementation and progression of a range of patient treatment and care packages as delegated by a registered healthcare professional; reporting back on progress
- To provide day to day supervision and /or support co-ordination of learners and junior staff acting both as a leader and role model for Nursing Assistants/Healthcare Support Worker (band 2)
