To undertake a supporting role to Coordinators within moving and handling
To assist in the provision of training and delivering exemplary clinical practice in ward and department areas, contributing to the reduction of work related musculoskeletal injury and moving and handling accidents across all staff groups and ensuring the Trust’s compliance with statutory legislation

State registered Nurse, Physio, OT, or have a degree level qualification in a relevant area or experience in an NHS Moving and Handling Team Post
Recent experience as a moving and handling facilitator/link person
Experience in carrying a variety of moving and handling risk assessments on patients and objects
Experience in carrying out patient handling training sessions on a ward/department
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety law related to moving and handling and their practical implementation within a health care setting
Evidence of CPD
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to developing safe working practices
Practical and innovative
Problem based approach
Good analytical skills
Good organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
IT skills using e-mail, spreadsheets and compiling reports as Word documents
