Job overview
We have opportunities for an Acute Medicine Trust Doctor within our Acute Medicine Department at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH). Our posts offer an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills and gain clinical experience, together with self-development time tailored to your specific needs. There will be access to a Study Leave budget and the ability to attend additional training
courses both internal and external.
It is envisaged you will gain a portfolio of competences and experiences that will enhance your future career, financial assistance will be given to allow you to obtain an extension to your E-portfolio access if required.
You will have a designated Clinical Supervisor during your appointment and you will be able to arrange to attend the Trust's local Internal Medicine teaching programme.
If the successful appointee has over four years post qualification experience, they will be appointed on specialty doctor 2021 terms and conditions.

The type of work to expect and learning opportunities
- Working on busy Acute Medicine inpatient units (AMU) and our Medical Ambulatory Care (MAC) unit (which delivers same-day emergency care/ SDEC )
- our team of Acute Medicine Consultant Physicians come from a diverse range of clinical backgrounds, including Clinical Infection, Elderly Medicine and Critical Care
- this may include contribution to our "Hospital at Night" team, including covering Gastroenterology ward admissions overnight

- Fully registered with the UK General Medical Council.
- Completion of CMT or ACCS training program or equivalent
- Paid UK NHS experience working as a doctor
- success at MRCP part 1 & 2 written examinations at time of application
