Job overview

The One Recovery Bucks service is an innovative and exciting opportunity to provide a bridge between Primary Care, Community Mental Health services and Substance Use services.

We are looking for a Co-Occurring Conditions Recovery Worker to join the team and One Recovery Bucks on a full-time, permanent basis!

These vacancies have arisen as a result of an unmet need identified for those members of the public who struggle with the co-occurring conditions of poor mental health and substance use.

Advert

  • Delivering a high quality clinical service to service users and their families.
  • Managing a caseload of people who experience co-occurring conditions.
  • Delivering interventions, in accordance with an agreed wellbeing and recovery plan, to an identified group of people presenting with co-occurring conditions (substance and alcohol use and mental health conditions).
  • Ensuring where required an assessment of co-occurring conditions and delivery of safe and effective treatment for an identified group of service users in accordance with an individual wellbeing and recovery plan where one exists or creating such a plan where not.
  • With oversight of the Clinical Lead, leading the partnership work with existing primary and secondary mental health services, as well as with the rough sleepers initiative (RSI) project.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification attached, a summary is below:

  • Take responsibility for the management of a caseload, which includes leading on the specialist health assessment of people referred to the service where co-occurring conditions are identified; support referral to primary/secondary care mental health services once needs are indicated and follow up work to ensure needs are met.
  • Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan including the management of common mental health problems through delivery of low level interventions.
  • Build networks within the primary and secondary mental health services, inclusive of regular attendance at team meetings in those services.
  • Promote and provide harm reduction interventions.
  • Refer carers and family members into the ORB family service for family/carer support.
  • Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.

Essential criteria
  • Foundation Degree / HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, human resources, social studies
  • NVQ 3 Health & Social Care (or commitment to work towards)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have co-occurring mental health needs
  • Experience of assessing, planning, co-ordinating and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting.

Skills

  • A thorough knowledge of substances and their effects
