We became a Foundation Trust (FT) on 1 October 2010.

We operate from three main hospital sites - Furness General Hospital in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal and two centres - Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

Furness General Hospital and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary have a range of 'General Hospital' services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and Consultant led beds. Westmorland General Hospital provides a range of General Hospital services, together with a Primary Care Assessment Service (PCAS) and GP led inpatient beds, operated by Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Essential criteria

Health and Care Professions Council registered Physiotherapist
Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/ Health Professions Council

Desirable criteria

Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Experience

Essential criteria

Comprehensive experience at undergraduate level of the core competencies within physiotherapy for example: musculo-skeletal, neurology and cardio- respiratory care.
Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills in English in a variety of settings.
To be able to demonstrate commitment to independent learning and continued professional development

Desirable criteria

Experience of working within a team

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential criteria

Must be able to demonstrate the confidence to take independent action within scope of practice.
To have a clear understanding of the role and duties of a Physiotherapist within the MDT.
To demonstrate an understanding of professional standards and expectations.
The demonstrate an understanding and awareness of on-call responsibilities
Must be willing and able to travel in and around the Morecambe Bay Area

Desirable criteria

Must be able to demonstrate basic awareness of current NHS issues.
To have a knowledge of audit tools and awareness of organisational and clinical standards in Physiotherapy
