Our vision, priorities and values

During 2018, we engaged with our staff and stakeholders to seek their views on the refresh of our EMAS vision, strategic priorities and values.

The final version was approved by our Trust Board in October 2018; the detail is included in the Our Future Vision and Strategy presentation.

Our Values

Our values have been updated to reflect our commitment to encouraging innovation, team and partnership working, and looking outwards as well as inwards.

Electronic Disclosure Application System planned update

The Electronic Disclosure Application System will be taken offline for essential maintenance at 18:00 on Tuesday 16th December 2025. While the Electronic Disclosure Application System is offline, it will not be possible to complete and submit a DBS application.

This downtime will only affect those of you who need to submit a DBS application. The Electronic Disclosure Application System will be back online by 22:00 on Tuesday 16th December 2025.

The main Candidate Account Area will not be impacted or taken offline. You will still be able to log in to your candidate account to complete other tasks or apply for jobs.

We are East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), an organisation focused on delivering a high standard of emergency and urgent care to our patients across the region.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and practices of the Trust, which may be amended from time to time. Patient Safety is a key priority for the Trust.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully compliant with EMAS policies and procedures in respect of patient safety, for example Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Understanding of Ambulance Service Policies, Procedures and Strategy and of broader NHS/Ambulance issues
Appropriate clinical (Paramedic, Nurse, AHP) qualification with current professional registration e.g. HCPC
Degree level management qualification (or studying for) or equivalent experience
Track record of achievement in the planning of quality improvement gained over at least two years
Good understanding of the CQC core standards and meeting a high level of compliance
Change management experience
