We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife with experience of working in a hospital for the Deputy Head of Midwifery - Quality and Safety, based at Whipps Cross Hospital. Your role will support the Associate Director of Midwifery in the development and implementation of the governance strategy for maternity services.
You will support in the development of the quality and safety agenda to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus. You will work in conjunction with the Divisional Management Team and site governance team to ensure the delivery and achievement of the group's objectives and contribute to the strategic policies for midwifery and maternity services.
The post holder will ensure the effective implementation of a comprehensive and systematic approach to governance across maternity service including the embedding of the Patient Safety Incidence Review Framework (PSIRF). You will support the Associate Director of Midwifery in ensuring that all aspects of risks are robustly and effectively managed in the interest of women's safety. They will ensure the continual improvement of the management of women's safety by developing programmes for improvement of patient safety and governance as appropriate.

They will have general oversight of the daily running of the Quality and Safety Lead midwife and team. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the support and leadership for the governance agenda across midwifery and obstetrics.
