Trac proudly powers the recruitment for

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

About

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust work together as a hospital group - University Hospitals Tees.

Building on years of productive partnership work, University Hospitals Tees will deliver better outcomes for:

·     Patients – by ensuring equal access to treatment and sharing   best practice on how to deliver care.

·    Staff – by enabling them to work on all of the group’s sites more easily and develop career opportunities.

·    The wider population – by collaborating to work on endemic health issues and having a coherent voice to represent the nearly two million people of the Tees Valley and parts of County Durham and North Yorkshire we support.

Colleagues now work across our group and we advise those applying for employment that they may be required to work at different bases, including University Hospital of North Tees, University Hospital of Hartlepool, The James Cook University Hospital and The Friarage (Northallerton) or other supporting sites such as the One Life Centre in Hartlepool or Lawson Street Health Centre in Stockton-on-Tees.

Continuous Service Improvement

University Hospitals Tees is committed to Continuous Service Improvement, which requires all our colleagues to perform at their very best.  To support you in your personal and professional development, we have a broad range of high quality leadership and service improvement education programmes, which are tailored to meet the needs of the people we serve.  All colleagues are encouraged to engage with the internal training and development opportunities, to learn alongside their peers to support our learning culture and organisational performance.

New developments

University Hospitals Tees is always looking to the future and our recent developments include:

  • The Tees Valley Community Diagnostic Centre - located on the banks of the River Tees in Stockton town centre, the CDC will provide thousands of diagnostic scans every year, reducing the need for patients to travel to hospital.

  • The new robotic and emergency maternity surgical theatre  - unveiled in 2025 at the University Hospital of North Tees, the suite features a bespoke theatre space and training room for our robotic surgery team.

  • Health and Social Care Academy  - The new £1.25m Health and Social Care Academy, based at the University Hospital of Hartlepool, is already playing a role in the development of the next generation of health and care workers.

  • One of five of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Town Deal transformation projects, the Academy is delivered in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education and features bespoke ‘at home’ simulation suite, an immersive suite, a four-bed training bay, ICT suite, trainee common room and several flexible training and classrooms.

  • Urgent treatment centre - More than 60,000 people have been seen at The James Cook University Hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre in its first year of opening.

  • Friarage surgical centre  - the Friarage hospital is a jewel in Northallerton’s crown.  The new £35.5million state-of-the-art surgical centre will see the Friarage’s six existing operating theatres replaced with a modern surgical hub that will include six main operating theatres, two minor operating theatres, and a surgical admission and day case hub.

Living in the north east

Average housing costs in our region are far lower than the rest of the country. The government’s house price index lists the average house in the north east at £168,000 which compares favourably to the UK average of £271,000 and London average of £552,000.

Along with rugged coastlines and beautiful countryside on our doorstep, the north east is well served with retail centres, restaurants, theatres and music venues, and more. The Tees Valley Combined Authority website has more details about the fun you can have when you call our region home.
