Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Job overview
The Housekeeping department runs a 24/7 Service. We employ over 60 staff within the Harefield Hospital housekeeping department, and the main objective is to provide a first-class service to our Staff, Patients and Visitors.
The successful applicant will be a key member of the Housekeeping Team, integral in leading the operational Housekeepers service, providing expert knowledge and advice in relation to all cleaning duties
You will assist and support the Senior Services Manager and work closely with Matrons, Sister, Charge Nurses, Departmental Heads and IPC colleagues in delivering quality services to patients, staff and visitor,s monitoring and supervising operational housekeeping services according to national standards, service specification and monitor, document and accurately report on performance.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective operation of all aspects of the Housekeeping Services. There will be emphasis on supervision, training and the allocation of duties, focusing on the quality of performance and outcomes, standards of behaviour, awareness of customer needs and care.
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you must liaise and communicate with your staff and colleagues and other departments. You are a very important element of the department, and you will work alongside your staff leading by example acting at all times in a manner that upholds the Trust’s values, working as part of a team to ensure efficiency and excellent customer care.
The post-holder will be required, to adhere to departmental and Trust standards with relation to infection control.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will have key relationships with all members of the facilities services team and the wider Essentia, compliance and clinical teams. Specifically the post holder will have regular contact with:
Matrons, Service General Managers, Service Delivery Managers, Junior Medical Staff, Nursing Staff, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, Administrative and Clerical Support Staff, Professional and Technical Staff and Healthcare Scientists.
