The Paediatric Psychosocial Service (PPS), part of Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust (MFT) CAMHS which sits within the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist to provide a high-quality specialist clinical and neuropsychology service to patients within the neuro-oncology service at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Christie Hospital in collaboration with clinical psychology colleagues and members of the neuro-oncology MDT.
This role also involves a small but important role in consultation and training with the Cochlear Implant Team at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
This is a brilliant opportunity for dedicated mental healthcare professionals to promote and improve the mental health and well-being of children and young people with physical health conditions and those who care for them.
You'll be supported to manage a defined caseload and have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people. Roles also include consultation and liaison with medical teams.

- Developing the clinical psychology service in conjunction with senior colleagues
- Supervision of more junior colleagues, trainee and assistant psychologists or other psychological practitioners

To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- An accredited post-graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Post-qualification experience of working within the fields of paediatric, adolescent or adult health psychology.

Qualifications

- You must be registered/accredited with a professional body. HCPC
- You must have a recognised qualification. Recognised qualifications are: Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.

- Pre-qualification training or experience with children and adolescents / adults with health conditions.
- Post- Qualification CPD relating to paediatrics or neuropsychology.
- Post-qualification training in a specific therapeutic modality relevant to a paediatric setting.
Experience/Knowledge

- Significant and demonstrable experience of working as a specialist clinical psychologist / neuropsychologist.
- Experience with children and adolescents / adults with health conditions.
- Experience of assessment and interpretation of neuropsychological tests
- Experience in assessment and therapeutic work with children, families, and adult patients across the age range with a full range of presenting problems and across settings including community, outpatient, and clinic settings.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk in a therapeutic setting
- Experience of multi-disciplinary teamwork.
- Experience of teaching, training, and professional and clinical supervision
- Experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
- Knowledge of legislation and national guidance in relation to the needs of child and adult patients.

- Working knowledge of professional systems involved in work with child/ adult patients, both in specialist hospital and community settings.
- Experience of working autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience in working in developing services.
- Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts
- Experience of facilitating debrief meetings/staff support with multidisciplinary teams.
