Clinical

Provide advanced respiratory assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with long-term respiratory conditions.
Offer expert clinical advice and support across services including Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Home Oxygen Assessment and Review, Spirometry, and self-management clinics.
Maintain professional accountability and ensure high standards of care across the service.
Contribute to MDT discussions and case reviews, supporting integrated care planning.
Promote self-management and patient education strategies to enhance independence and reduce hospital admissions.

Leadership & Management

Lead the operational delivery of the community respiratory service, including workforce planning, caseload management, and rota coordination.
Provide day-to-day line management, clinical supervision, and appraisals for team members.
Use complex problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to manage team dynamics and service pressures effectively.

Leadership and management experience at Band 7 or above
Experience of teaching and mentoring of staff across the multidisciplinary team (also student
Experience of leading Clinical Governance in clinical area, including risk management, patient experience and audit
Previous experience of formal presentations in health care settings
Evidence of teaching within multi-professional groups

Training and Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Physiotherapy
HCPC or NMC Registration.

Knowledge

Advanced specialist knowledge, understanding and application of a patient centred assessment.
Knowledge of rehabilitation and symptom management related to chronic lung disease.
Knowledge of pathways and COPD, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Home Oxygen guidance
Demonstrate highly specialist knowledge, application and analysis of standardised and non - standardised tests e.g. capillary blood gas, spirometry
Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure especially in relation to managing an outpatient caseload and with patients that might express a range of emotions in relation to their condition and symptoms.
Demonstrate excellent leadership, organisational, managerial and team performance skills
Committed to improve the experience of service users, appreciating complexity of context, culture of diversity and health inequalities
Ability to manage and learn from differences of opinion in both patient -related and inter -professional settings
Computer literacy and the ability to manage data.
