Job overview
Are you looking for a new and exciting role? We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our Dietetic Team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting and innovative Band 6 dietitian post working within the Community Nutrition Support Team and Virtual Wards across East Sussex.
Are you interested a career working within an integrated NHS Trust that supports patient care across the community, acute and rehabilitation settings? Does a role that involves strong collaborative MDT working within clinical specialities appeal? The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and friendly community dietetic team and virtual wards with a range of experience. We welcome applications from experienced Band 5 clinicians, where there will be opportunities to work alongside senior dietitians and training in order to develop your clinical and leadership skills to fulfil a band 6 role as competencies achieved.
You will liaise closely with the patient’s relatives and carers regarding ongoing nutritional care and discharge planning. You will also provide expert nutritional advice and knowledge to the wider MDT. In community settings you will support patients in face to face clinics, via virtual/telephone clinics, as well as in their home and in care-home settings, to manage their oral and enteral nutritional requirements.
Applicants must holds a driving licence and ability to travel independently between sites.

Our close knit and supportive Dietetic Department includes over 40 clinicians and associated staff working across the specialities of community nutrition support, diabetes, gastroenterology, inpatients, intensive care, oncology, paediatrics, prescribing support, virtual wards and rehabilitation. Our department also includes Primary Care Network (PCN) dietitians, plus our apprentice dietitians and trainee Advanced Practice (AP) dietitians.
We are seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our Community Nutrition Support Dietetic Team and Virtual Wards Team at East Sussex Healthcare Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 4 year degree in Dietetics or equivalent Current State Registration with Health Professional Council
- Evidence of further postgraduate experience in specialist area
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate training in behavioural change/ motivational interviewing techniques

- Experience of enteral nutrition.
- Conducting patient and other health professional group education
- Conducting patient and other health professional group education
- Experience of assessing and treating patients with a range of complex medical conditions

Essential criteria
- Sound clinical knowledge with an understanding of current issues, research, NICE guidelines and best practice,
- In depth knowledge of prescribable oral nutritional supplements, enteral feeds and other dietetic products, medications and drug nutrient interactions
- Function, components and benefits of clinical supervision in order to give and receive clinical supervision
- Excellent verbal, written and active listening skills that communicate information accurately, effectively and sensitively, both verbal and written to patients and professionals at all levels
