Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? We are offering an exciting opportunity to join East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust as a Trainee Clinical Support Worker – Higher Level. This role is designed to support your development into a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker within 6 months, following successful completion of training and competency assessments.
You will be part of a supportive team, working under the supervision of registered professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients in hospital or community settings.

- Provide personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding
- Record patient observations including vital signs and escalate concerns
- Support clinical procedures such as wound care, venepuncture, and catheter removal (after training)
- Assist with medication administration and oxygen therapy (after training)
- Escort patients and support enhanced observations
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient dignity and confidentiality

These vacancies are open to individuals who:
- Have never worked in Healthcare but are interested in a change of career,

- Have previous work experience and can demonstrate transferable skills,
- Are able to commit to a full week of induction training at the start of employment,
- Are able to work flexibly across a range of shifts (days, nights and weekends) to meet the needs of our services,
- Are capable of successfully completing the mandatory Care Certificate training,
- Hold GSCE Maths and English grade C/4 or above (or a comparable international qualification) Or is capable of successfully completing Level 2 functional skills within 6 months.
