If so, this role may be for you. We have an exciting opportunity for a full time, 12-month fixed term position for a Specialty Clinical Educator Post within the Nutrition & Dietetic Department.
This post will develop and deliver Trust-wide training focused on the safe insertion and care of all types of enteral feeding tubes. This will include education to support the admission and discharge of patients requiring enteral feeding to embed appropriate, high-quality care for our patients whilst supporting our staff to practice safely and confidently to the highest standard.
You will be based within the Nutrition & Dietetic Department but also link with the Transformation Team & Practice Education and Development Team in implementing this fundamental training package. This role would suit an experienced NMAHP, with an interest in nutrition.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To deploy an innovative approach to learning and development activities and act as an expert link with staff from other areas to share knowledge, best practice and expertise. To provide leadership, clinical supervision, coaching and training to clinical staff, develop and maintain effective links with other educators both internal and external to the organisation. To participate in monitoring systems by which the quality of care can be measured e.g. audit, benchmarking.
To provide complex analysis and recommendations on learning needs and plans and provide effective and honest feedback to staff. To deploy excellent verbal communication skills to motivate staff to change practice, developing a culture of high engagement where staff are empowered and entrusted to provide the best services and care for patients.
To work as part of the clinical team delivering high quality clinical care to patients and providing best practice advice, using specialty knowledge and skills on a regular basis. To make clear recommendations about practice to the senior nursing, midwifery and allied health professional team using a range of sources such as National documents, best practice examples Nationally and Internationally as well as own experience. In collaboration with the senior clinical team make effective use of patient experience data, complaints and incidents to improve the delivery of clinical care to patients. Contribute towards the development of policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines which are evidence-based.
You will require professional registration with HCPC or NMC together with Degree level knowledge, or equivalent, and / or experience, supplemented by relevant specialist knowledge to Masters level or equivalent experience. Post registration qualification relevant to specialty or equivalent experience and significant post registration experience and an ability to demonstrate clinical skills, knowledge, credibility and expertise in the specialty is required. A qualification in teaching, learning and assessing in clinical practice and significant experience of delivering training and education in the clinical setting is also required.
