Are you passionate about transforming complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decisions? We are looking for a Data Analyst/BI Specialist to join our Finance Data Governance and Management Team - a pivotal role focused on improving data quality, strengthening integration, and enabling informed decision-making across the organisation.
In this role, you will conduct in-depth analysis of financial and operational data to identify trends, support performance monitoring, and drive improvement initiatives. You will work with tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Azure cloud services to build dashboards and reports, analyse data flows, and help diagnose and resolve data quality issues across interconnected systems.
You will also play a key role in ensuring data governance standards are met, collaborating with teams across Finance, IT, HR, and Digital to promote data integrity and seamless integration. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Data Analyst in the Data Governance and Management team in Finance will:
- Implement and support data governance frameworks to maintain accuracy, integrity, and security of financial data systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, IT, Digital) and external vendors to ensure effective integration and interoperability of financial data systems.
- Analyse financial and operational data using tools such as SQL and Power BI to generate actionable insights for decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Utilise data platforms to extract, analyse, and visualise data, producing reports, dashboards, and presentations for business users.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues within the scope of the Data Governance and Management Team, applying appropriate tools like SQL, Power BI, Azure, or other relevant technologies for thorough analysis.
Assessment and Interview Process
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an onsite technical assessment before the interview, on the same day. It is envisaged that this will take place on the 9th and 10th of October 2025.

- Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience, in a numerate discipline.
Desirable criteria
- Preferably mathematics or statistics.
- Certifications such as Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) or Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), with a strong willingness to learn and adopt new tools and technologies.

- Extensive hands-on experience with financial systems (e.g., budgeting, accounting, and financial management), ideally within healthcare or similar sectors, focusing on data analysis, reporting, and financial data management.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical/numerical techniques, supported by practical experience in utilising tools like SQL, Power BI, and Azure services for complex data analysis, insights generation, and the creation of reports and dashboards for decision-making.
- Expertise in financial and operational data flows, particularly within the NHS or similar public-sector organisations, ensuring seamless data integration across platforms.
