A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an exceptional nurse/midwife to lead and influence the education and workforce of midwifery, neonatal and CYP nursing.
As the Clinical Training and Education Senior Specialist for (Midwifery, Neonatal and CYP nursing, you will be joining a small but dynamic Nursing and Midwifery Team within the Workforce and Education Directorate in the Southwest region.
The role will help provide expert clinical education, practice and policy advice to health systems, health and social care providers and work closely with Accredited Education Institutes. As an advocate for learners, you will work collaboratively with education providers and operational partners to embed the Safe Learning Environment Charter.
You will have a key role in delivering the regional ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Plan and key aspects of the anticipated new CNO strategy required to create the future nursing workforce, in order to deliver high quality, safe maternity and CYP services now and in the future.

In collaboration with regional and national partners, the post holder will be expected to create and deliver an annual plan with objectives that meet the directions of the NHS 10 year plan and anticipated CNO (England) Strategy.
Be responsible for programme delivery for an assigned portfolio of local and shared regional programmes of work.
Have delegated responsibility for representing and presenting NHSE’s position in respect to workforce strategy on behalf of the Head of Programmes to a broad range of external, Board-level stakeholders and stakeholder groups (e.g. ICS/ICB’s, Education providers) with demanding, complex and often competing agendas.
Support the Senior Nurse and the Regional Lead for Nursing and Midwifery to deliver regional objectives, to build and preserve trusted stakeholder relationships and networks of influence among internal and external stakeholders in challenging circumstances to support the promotion of NHSE’s strategic objectives.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Represent regional nursing and midwifery workforce, training and education priorities and progress against regional and national objectives. Represent, as required on behalf of the Senior Nurse or Regional Lead at internal and external local, regional and national forums for areas of delegated responsibility.
Engage and working closely with, peers across the region and nationally to support organisational learning, innovation, matrix working and the adoption of best practice.
Hold delegated authority to negotiate to gain consensus amongst senior external stakeholders on complex and contentious issues in a political environment relating to local/regional workforce priorities.
