This is an opportunity to join a specialist team working with adopted and care experienced young people in Local Authority residential care. You will provide high quality psychological assessments, interventions and care planning, while also supporting carers and staff through consultation, training and supervision. As part of the role you will contribute to the shared duty system with other clinicians, ensuring timely responses in a non-emergency service that prides itself on being accessible and responsive. You will escalate safeguarding concerns where necessary and work closely with partner agencies to ensure safe and effective care. The role also offers the chance to train other CAMHS staff, provide supervision for trainees and students, and play a key part in shaping the development of this unique service. This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable young people, while developing your skills in a supportive, collaborative and innovative environment.

Qualifications – Academic/Skills/Professional

Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and Neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice. Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology. Current registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist Formal training in supervision of other psychologists. OR: Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy and/or Mental Health Nursing. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC.
