A Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SLTA) is required at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery to work in the neurorehabilitation and neurology services.
The NRU is a regional rehabilitation unit providing intensive therapy to people with complex neurological disorders. The neurology service provides specialist assessment and intervention for in- and out-patients with a range of neurological and neuromuscular disabilities.
The person will work as part of the speech & language therapy team, alongside other allied health professional, to provide intensive and evidence-based therapy, including group therapy. They will also provide administrative and clinical support to the outpatient team.
The post holder needs to be very interested in learning about and working with acquired and progressive communication and swallowing impairments and their consequences, under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists.

The assistant post provides clinical and administrative to support to speech and language therapists in the neurorehabilitation and neurology services. The post holder will be an integral member of the team, helping services to provide person-centred and holistic assessment and treatments to people with communication and swallowing difficulties in an effective and efficient way.
