The Senior Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Practitioner will help to create a fair and inclusive culture at MFT, which respects difference, advocates for human rights and actively supports improving the lived experiences of our patients, service users and workforce. You will contribute to achieving the aims within the Diversity Matters Strategy, which are to have improved patient access, safety and experience, a representative and supportive workforce and inclusive leadership.
Working in partnership with internal and external EDI stakeholders, you will develop, manage and report on EDI interventions for managers and staff, to help promote equitable and effective ways of working. You will seek opportunities to strengthen and integrate EDI into our Trust policies, plans and principles. Data is our evidence for change, but data isn’t everything – it’s what we do next that counts, so you will support teams to be creative in developing their own EDI projects and plans.

Contribution to achieving the aims of the Diversity Matters Strategy, is central and at the heart of everything we do. Alongside providing expert advice to the Trust to meet statutory obligations, national and key policy requirements.
Working in partnership with various managers, teams and stakeholders, internally and externally, will be essential, in order to provide advice and support, enabling them to embed EDI into their business objectives and service delivery.
Promoting the importance of an EDI approach in all forums will enable the reinforcement of an equitable and supportive Trust culture, consistent with the Trust’s Vision and strategic objectives.
You will line manage the EDI Practitioner and support them in carrying out their duties and encouraging their development.
You will create, manage, oversee and report on projects and interventions, across our hospitals and community services, ensuring that work is managed and delivered within budgetary constraints and agreed timescales.
You will develop, manage and oversee community group engagement, to identify needs, provide support and promote services that are effective, efficient and appropriate for our diverse communities.
You will facilitate and deliver EDI training and interventions, when necessary, to help educate raise awareness and improve inclusive practice.
You will carry out research and benchmarking, to address changes in EDI & Human Rights legislation, policies and guidance as a measure of good practice.

- A degree in the subject or equivalent knowledge or skills
- Masters Qualification or Postgraduate qualification in the subject or relevant experience to masters equivalence
