Do you have experience working with young people with Eating disorders?
Are you looking to enhance your skills and work within a supportive and experienced team?
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist, with the possibility of a preceptorship from band 7 to 8a (please contact us to discuss further). You will be part of our Marlborough Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
You will be joining the TEDS team within Marlborough CAMHS, a service which is committed to adapting to meet diverse and challenging demands and to maintaining high quality specialist assessment and intervention whilst being mindful of throughput, innovation and efficiencies.
The service is designed to provide young people and families with expert help and you will have a particular focus around providing psychology input into our Specialist Eating Disorder Service (TEDS).

- Ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist psychology service to clients with complex mental health problems including severe, enduring and multiple disorders, and challenging behaviour.
- Offer consultation and supervision, and support the work of other service staff and psychology clinical team members providing psychologically based care and treatment, according to expertise.
- Provide training placements for Doctoral Trainee psychologists, a range of qualified and unqualified staff across mental health areas, as agreed.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology including specifically models of psychopathology and psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
- Current registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC.

- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
- Additional training in eating disorders specific intervention, such as FT-AN, CBT-E, CBT-T.
Experience

- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessments and treatment of CAMHS clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and patient settings.
- Demonstrate further specialist training/experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision in a specific modality, or any other relevant supervised practice experience including case presentations, supported by short courses approved by the Trust Head of Psychology, and assessed at interview.
- Experience of working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within CAMHS.
- Experience of teaching and training.
- Experience of working with eating disorders.
- Experience of supervision of staff.
Skills
