An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, HCPC registered Physiotherapist with Amputee Rehabilitation experience, to work within the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality assessments and interventions.

You will need to have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience with some experience of assessing complex disability.
The job role is to provide physiotherapy input to the Regional Prosthetic Service, alongside Band 7 Physiotherapists. To participate in the inter-disciplinary assessment process, negotiated client-centred goal settings and completion of outcome measurements for amputees. To be responsible for managing a caseload of amputee patients, both non-limb wearers and prosthetic users and to provide physiotherapy treatments, including early walking aids and gait training techniques. To communicate with physiotherapy departments locally and regionally to relay patient-related information concerning their physiotherapy requirements.
You must have good organisational skills including prioritisation of workload and time management skills and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and application of up to date clinical trends and practices including evidence based ones
You must be able to communicate effectively with patients /carers /colleagues and other agencies and be able to generate written communication, which is relevant, concise, accurate and legible.

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

DBS Costs
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with the Trust will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary in 3 payments over a 3-month period once you start employment. By applying for this role, you are agreeing to these deductions being made. The charges for the DBS include the administration fee. The total costs are £26.40 for a standard check and £54.40 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for. For bank Workers the full cost of the DBS check (as detailed above) will be deducted from your pay following completion of your online mandatory training. No payment will be made for your online training until it is all complete and verified by the Temporary Staffing Team. Please note: You will not be able to work any bank shifts until you have completed your mandatory training, and your DBS is in place.

- Ability to demonstrate highly developed physiotherapeutic handling and positioning skills, gait re-education and exercise programme development skills for patients.
- Understanding of community support agencies and other professions, and ability to work and liaise with them.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients /carers /colleagues and other agencies. This may require explanation, instruction, persuasion, motivation, negotiation, reassurance and require expert verbal and non-verbal skills. Use of simple and more complex communication technology may be used by patients and interpreters may be used on occasions.

- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Clinical Governance, standard setting and the audit process (understanding of principles of clinical governance)
