Job overview
North West Sussex CAMHS Service have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Consultant Psychiatrist to join their locality team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral part in prioritising the delivery of a safe, effective and caring service to those children and young people (0yrs-18yrs). Psychiatrists are integral for driving change and influencing service development. The Trust has ambitious aims to continuously improve for the good of our patients and we welcome clinical and non-clinical views in order to achieve this together.
You will work as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team which includes nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists. This post will work alongside other Consultants and Specialty Doctors who work in Sussex CAMHS. You will also be part of a Trust wide Consultant network where there are opportunities to liaise with colleagues in other posts throughout the Trust and develop peer networks.
This job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £45,000 structured over a three-year period as follows:
o £15,000 payable upon successful recruitment
o £10,000 payable at 12 months’ service
o £10,000 payable at 24 months’ service
o £10,000 payable at 36 months’ service
Advert
The service we provide is in line with NICE Evidenced Based Treatment for those children and young people. You will provide high quality specialist clinical assessments, including relevant psychiatric and physical investigation to children, young people and their families in a range of settings, and work collaboratively with other members of the team to plan and deliver appropriate individually tailored treatment plans.
- To provide medical psychiatric assessment and intervention, including pharmacology and mental health act assessments to the CAMHS in North West Sussex ensuring best quality and most effective psychiatric care, working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- To provide neuro-developmental assessments i.e. ASD, ADHD in partnership with multi-disciplinary team colleagues working within the agreed care group wide care pathways.
- To work as part of the multi-professional team providing high quality specialist CAMHS clinical advice, assessment and intervention to children and young people in the area in a range of settings.
- To engage families/carers in planning and provision of care.
- To provide timely advice and consultation to GP’s, social services and other referrers, facilitating appropriate access to services.
