To provide a highly specialist psychology service to Queens Park and Paddington Mental Health Hub including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
To support the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy for clients with complex and enduring mental health problems (e.g. complex PTSD, psychosis and complex non-psychosis presentations) within Queens Park and Padding Mental Health Hub.
To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in secondary care psychological services for the Queens Park and Paddington Mental Health Hub.
To manage weekly therapy meetings and case discussion forums. Managing referrals coming to the Therapies team within the Hub and alongside other therapy colleagues deciding on appropriate therapeutic treatment pathways for clients.
To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.

Training and qualifications

Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or counseling psychology or its equivalent (for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

Completed training course in clinical supervision
Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice

Experience

Evidence of having worked as a clinical specialist under supervision in Complex Mental Health Settings. Working with people with Complexity or comorbidity
Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature in secondary mental health care
Experience of supervising assistant and trainee psychologists having completed the relevant training
Post-qualification experience that supports working with, and addressing issues of, diversity within local communities
Experience of carrying out post-doctoral research, audit or service evaluation projects.
