B8a Clinical Psychologist 9 month maternity leave cover
We are seeking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Clinical Psychologist to join our Specialist Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) based at Aldrington House Hove. SFEDS works with young people aged 10-18 with an eating disorder and their families across Sussex, and supports recovery through evidenced based interventions such as the Maudsley Family Therapy models and E-CBT. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality evidenced based treatment in accordance with NICE Guidelines and National Access and Waiting Times Standards.
You will be joining a service of highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Nurses, Dietitian, Support Workers and OTs.
You will work as a member of the clinical service/team, providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training.
You will participate in systematic clinical governance and to offer clinical supervision to assistant, trainee and more junior psychologists and other staff. To utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
We offer and support hybrid and flexible working, we require staff to be on site for 60% of their working week.
Advert
· To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychology service.
· To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload.
· To use analytical and judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.
· To clinically supervise assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists and junior psychologists, psychological therapists or counsellors and other staff as appropriate.
· To professionally supervise and, when appropriate, manage, assistant psychologists and trainee psychologists
· To complete assessments of those referred to the service and outcome this in a timely manner in line with code of Conduct
· To provide consultation, mentorship, supervision as appropriate.
· To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
· To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services.
· To utilise research skills to undertake service evaluation, audit and research as appropriate and disseminate the results in the service and nationally.

REQUIREMENTS
Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology (or it's equivalent).
· Experience of working with young people with an eating disorder preferred although not essential.
· Extensive experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
· Experience of supervising staff.
· Wide knowledge of local and national policies.
MAIN DUTIES
· To carry out specialist psychological assessments of young people referred to the service.
· To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management.
· To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.
