We work closely with Kids First Nurseries that are based within our trust grounds at Wansbeck, North Tyneside and Hexham hospitals to care for our Trust family's children, they offer care for children from 6 weeks old up to 4 years. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Radiographer within Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust. Base site to be discussed further and agreed during the interview process, depending on the needs of the service.
With extended hours, Monday to Sunday there are many development opportunities.
Northumbria Healthcare is dedicated to providing first class care to all its patients. This post is part of a team of qualified and support staff and the post holder works as part of a multidisciplinary team.

To participate in the roster pattern, weekend working, out of hours and on calls.
The job role requires staff to work between CT, general x-ray and theatres.
The successful candidates will be required to work alongside students and assistant practitioners. A mentor programme to aid student development is available.
As part of the service we cover Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital out of hours and at weekends. We aim to provide cover at North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and Hexham General Hospital when the service requires in addition to Morpeth NHS centre, Alnwick and Berwick Infirmaries.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. - To assist in the provision of high quality Radiographic Service within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, whilst complying with all Trust and Department policies and procedures.
- To carry out all radiographic techniques and examinations to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures.
- Undertakes specialist areas of practice as delegated by site lead.
- May be required to work in any radiology department with appropriate notice. Including community hospitals. Expected to participate in shifts/rotas to cover a 24/7 service

- Specialist post registration qualification in a specialized imaging modality at diploma level and or the equivalent experience e.g CT, Barium, Fluoroscopy, mammography, Cardiac Cath lab. IVP or image interpretation

Experience and knowledge

- Previous post graduate experience Must be competent in a specialist area of practice such as Barium’s, Cardiology Cath Lab, Pain clinics, muscular skeletal reporting, fluoroscopy, mammography or CT evidenced through Diploma level post graduate training and/or experience.
- Experience of teaching others
- Post qualification training in intravenous cannulation and demonstrate competency in the administration of intravenous injections.
- Additional red dot training by attending external and/or in house training and study days to assist junior doctors in image interpretation.
- Must have evidence of on going CPD
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
