Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire, with services covering the local authority areas of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.
We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents. The organisation also provides specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. JOB SUMMARY:
Blackpool Teaching Hospital, offers sexual health screening and care Pan Lancashire, with each main clinical site having satellite clinics across its geographical locality.
This Post is a Part time 30 hours, fixed term for Maternity Cover.
The post holder will work as part of the Sexual Health Services team and will assess, plan, and provide sexual health advice, screening, and treatment (including contraception).
There will be an expectation that the post holder will work across all areas of Sexual Health Services including all outreach clinics as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To learn to undertake sexual health clinics, assessing patients and taking a sexual history.
To perform venepuncture, as per Trust Policy.
To issue prescribed medication as requested by medical staff and non-medical prescribers.
initiate treatments and implement partner notification measures as per local guidelines.
To have sound knowledge Of BASHH guidelines.
To administer vaccinations and immunisations
Supply emergency contraception, start a method of contraception
patient’s advocate and act in their best interests
Assess patients under the age of 16 using Fraser Guidelines; adhering to local Safeguarding Policies.
Infection Prevention Control (IPC) is the responsibility of all Trust staff.
Reporting of untoward incidents.
Undertake appraisals/1:1’s with staff up to and including Band 4.

Currently the charges are - Basic DBS check £25.50, Standard DBS check £25.50 and Enhanced DBS check £53.50.
You are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service. This is an annual registration fee of £16. By registering for the update service you will not have the additional cost of repeated disclosures.
Should you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check.
DBS checks remain free of charge for volunteer positions.
