An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Perfusionist within a dynamic forward-thinking Perfusion Department.
Manchester Foundation Trust and Wythenshawe Hospital are at the cutting-edge of cardiac surgery. We provide all aspects of adult cardiac surgery including, ventricular assist devices (V.A.D.), heart and lung transplantation and respiratory extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (E.C.M.O.).
This post is at Band 7 so will ideally suit a newly qualified perfusionist or someone with only one or two years experience post qualification.
We offer the opportunity to gain experience in 'Perfusion for Transplantation' ECMO, BIVADs and implantable Heartmate 3.
The applicant must hold an accreditation with the UK College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists (CCPS). However, no prior experience of Transplants or ECMO is as this will all be taught in house.
This post will suit someone looking to broaden their perfusion knowledge, looking for a new challenge, or simply wishing to move to the North West.

The main duty of the role is the set up and running of the Heart Lung machine for cardiac surgery.
In addition the perfusion department is responsible for the cell salvage machines and Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps.
Wythenshawe is a transplant centre, and so the perfusion department uses mechanical circulatory support devices. These include ventricular assist devices, Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Heartmate 3.
Wythenshawe also provides a Veno-Veno Respiratory ECMO service and has the capacity to retrieve patients from 'outside' units.
Please refer to the attached Job description for a full overview.
