Bromley is an outer London Borough with excellent health and social care facilities. It is relatively a short distance from central London with multiple transport links to London and to Kent, the Garden of England. Bromley is full of green spaces and high-quality housing stock. It’s a great place to live and work for the whole family. Bromley has multiple train stations, an extensive bus network and access to Croydon Tram link. There are excellent state (selective and non-selective) and private schools with high Ofsted ratings.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join as Locum Consultant or the post can be offered for a more time limited period if preferred on mutually agreed basis. This is a replacement post that has become available following a step down and initiatives to deal with backlogs and increasing waiting times.
The post holder will be part of a dynamic and experienced community paediatric team of Consultants, Paediatric & trainees, Associate Specialists and a Specialty doctor who provide the full range of community paediatric services. The post holder will have competence in the assessment, diagnosis and management in neurodisability, child development and in behavioural and social paediatrics including Children Looked After.

The post holder will be mainly expected to see referrals with neuro-developmental concerns but there would be flexibility in the job plan to accommodate candidate’s other special interests.
The post holder will be required to do child protection work pro-rata (physical abuse only).
The post does not have out-of-hours on-call commitments. This is a part time (8.5 PAs) post, but we would welcome applicants who might wish to work full time or less than full time, as the need arises.

- Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application.

- Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training

- Evidence of participation in clinical audit/QI project, understanding the role of these in improving the medical practice
- Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence, so as to improve clinical outcomes
- Willingness to teach all grades of professional multidisciplinary staff and medical students
- Wide experience in General Paediatrics with specialist knowledge of Community Child Health
- Specialist knowledge of the range of Neurodevelopmental disorders and management of complex medical problems in community settings
- Experience in the diagnosis and management of ADHD /Autism Spectrum Disorder, and identifying comorbidities or coexisting conditions
- Training and experience in the identification and management of suspected child abuse
- Knowledge of 0-25 SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014
- Knowledge of the current NHS changes and their significance for working with primary care
