We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer.
As part of the General Imaging team, you will work across different sites and on a rotation through all areas of general imaging including Theatres and Mobiles, Accident and Emergency, Inpatients and Outpatients, offering an opportunity to develop a wide range of experience. On joining our team, staff are assigned a buddy/mentor to allow orientation into the Trust and the department with a full induction programme in place. The role is challenging and rewarding; your professional skills will make a real difference to our team and our patients.
The Radiology Directorate holds QSI accreditation; the first NHS Trust to do so, and is focused on providing a high quality service with a culture of continuous quality improvement and continuous professional development. We provide a 24 hours/7days working week in order to maximise service delivery, so a flexible approach is essential, together with enthusiasm and self-motivation.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large Tertiary referral centre for cardiac patients and has 10 General Imaging rooms, 2 Dental rooms, Mobiles and Theatres, Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound rooms, 5 CT Scanners, 4 MRI scanners, 2 Gamma Cameras, a Mammography suite and an Interventional suite with an excellent reputation for staff development opportunities. We have recently had a major investment in new equipment within the General Imaging department.
Hours of duty:
- 37.5hrs Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
- The candidate must be registered with the HCPC.
- Working hours will be flexible and will form part of a 24/7 shift system.

You will expected to act as a practitioner as defined within IR(ME)R 2017 & 2024 Amendment.
To determine and deliver the most appropriate X-ray imaging procedures to assist with the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of a wide range of pathologies or conditions. Be accountable within the team for ensuring the quality of clinical radiography is of an extremely high standard inline with the Trust Values and professional expectations.
Provision of an effective imaging service and support to service users as required, as part of a 24/7 shift system.
