Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join our specialist service for people experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
We are recruiting two Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners / Care co-ordinators for teams covering the area of Manchester.

The post holder will maintain and co-ordinate timely and appropriate interventions and assessment for a caseload of service users living in the community within the framework of CPA and in line with the relevant clinical pathways as outlined within the EIT operational procedure. The Mental Health Practitioner / Care co-ordinator will also contribute to completing initial assessments for all service users referred into the service within two weeks, in accordance with the NHS England Access and Waiting Time Standards.
This includes respecting individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs. The post holder will be supported with their responsibilities by the wider team including administrative support. Regular training will be provided as needed.

· To manage discharges from the service and transfers to other services as appropriate for service users who are not accepted for the full First Episode Pathway service following assessment. |

· To work as part of our integrated MDT, to attend daily meeting to feed back the outcomes of assessments undertaken, and to participate in a clinical decision-making process to determine the most appropriate management plans for all service users who have received an assessment. · To have a good knowledge of the required documentation for case management, and to ensure compliance with any associated performance standards. · To maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping, including electronic data entry, and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional selfgovernance in accordance with relevant professional code of practice and Trust policies and procedures. · To liaise professionally and sensitively with other involved parties in order to obtain further information pertinent to the holistic assessment process. · To provide advice, guidance and consultation to peer and junior professionals within the service, both individually, and by attendance at team referral and review meetings |

Further Information for Postholder(s)
We are a very dedicated, highly motivated, and dynamic team. We have a true MDT approach, and our team consists of a number of different disciplines working towards common goals for our service users. We offer a range of Psychological Therapies and Psychosocial Interventions and have a comprehensive training programme across the directorate. We have regular in-house training and clinical supervision with our Clinical Psychologists.
We work very closely with service users and families, offering family interventions and therapy. We value service user involvement and encourage participation in service developments on many levels, including via our Peer Mentor system and our Service User representatives who assist us with recruitment.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a strong staff wellbeing ethos where staff are encouraged to practice self-care strategies not only to keep themselves well and happy, but also to ensure that a high-quality service is consistently provided to service users and carers by staff who lead by example.
