Clinical research at MFT
Our MFT Research and Innovation strives to be at the forefront of R&I in UK healthcare. We are dedicated to driving continuous improvement in the care our patients receive through clinical research. We support over 300 principal investigators undertake research across a diverse range of clinical areas, with more than 800 active studies, involving 15,000 patients, deliver improved diagnostics, treatments and devices for patients in Manchester and beyond.
The NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility (MCRF) comprises of six dedicated experimental medicine research units .CRFs provide dedicated space and a safe, quality assured environment for delivering clinical research studies. Manchester CRF currently supports adult and children’s studies across a diverse range of clinical areas. The team facilitates and supports the delivery of research within Experimental medicine in various disease specialities in early phase 1 and Phase 2 Clinical trials.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a full time Band 6 Senior Clinical Research Nurse to coordinate and deliver clinical research studies at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).
You will be instrumental in implementing study objectives and will provide dedicated support to ensure that studies are delivered to time and target. You will be the main point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors and patients and so effective communication and team working skills are essential. You will be involved in ensuring that research undertaken at MFT safeguards the well-being of patients and is undertaken within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Prior clinical research nursing experience is not essential, but advantageous. You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent experience; You will have First Level registration RN, experience of nursing in a clinical setting with people management skills.
You will have a flexible approach to your working pattern. You may be required to work a variety of shifts throughout the 24-hour period, including weekends to perform your role satisfactorily and to meet the needs of the Research delivery across MFT. Cross site working will be required.
Comprehensive training and an induction program will be provided for successful candidates. We will also ensure that you have tailored, individual personal development plans with support for further training.
