About

About Us
BeKnown at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. By us. By our patients. By our community.
We are a busy, friendly, rural NHS Trust providing high-quality care and compassion to more than a quarter of a million people across west Suffolk. We care for, treat and support people in hospital, at home and in various community settings.
The West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds provides acute and secondary care services. It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.
We provide community services in West Suffolk, and specialist community services across the county. Our many adult and children’s community services include nursing, therapy, and specialist services.
Ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation services are provided through community inpatient beds, including at Newmarket Community Hospital (NCH). A new, state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Centre based at NCH opened in December 2024.
We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for patients and our values of fairness, inclusivity, respect, safety and teamwork guide how we work and behave as a team.
With over 5,000 staff, from all over the world, we strive to make our organisation a great place to work. Whatever your role or ambition, we want to help you be the best you can be. We promote a diverse and inclusive community where everyone’s voice counts, and you can #BeKnown for whoever you are.
Application Advice

When using AI to support your job application, it is important to personalise the content so that it accurately reflects your skills, experience, and individual qualities. AI tools can be useful for improving structure, formatting, and generating ideas, but they cannot fully capture your unique voice or personal experiences. Always review content to ensure it is authentic, accurate and representative of your abilities. A personalised application will help you stand out to recruiting managers.

We actively monitor applications to ensure fairness and prevent any unfair advantage. All references are checked carefully, and you may be asked to demonstrate and discuss your experience during the interview process. It is therefore essential that all information provided in your application is honest and accurate. Please note that the use of AI tools is strictly prohibited during the interview process.
