We are delighted to be recruiting three full‑time Band 6 Clinical Coding Validators and Lead Analysts to join our well‑established and forward‑thinking Clinical Coding Team.
These roles are ideal for experienced, ACC‑qualified coders who are passionate about data quality, confident in coding across a wide range of specialties, and skilled in working collaboratively with clinicians to resolve documentation and coding queries.

Advert
Provide an efficient and high-quality clinical coding service by accurate and timely coding of complex case-mix inpatient Spells for all Trust Specialties
Act as expert Clinical Coder by liaising with Clinicians and Specialty Leads for queries related to source documentation and to validate coding where expertise is required to maximise income
To meet individual coding targets in productivity and accuracy to ensure that the team meets monthly reporting deadlines
Provide specialist coding knowledge to less experienced staff

Qualifications

- Good general education to GCSE level with Maths and English
- Relevant NVQ3 / A levels or equivalent. To have obtained a Pass in the National Clinical Coding Qualification ACC ( )
- Have attended an NHS NHSCS) ( Service Classifications foundation course.
- Be able to provide evidence of attendance at a nationally approved Refreshe r Training Course within the last three years of employment.
- Be able to provide evidence of attendance on nationally approved Specialty Workshops.
- Ongoing relevant experience and development to degree equivalent level.

- Extensive knowledge of Clinical Coding rules and conventions
- Knowledge of Payment by Results framework
- Able to communicate errors and corrections effectively to promote improvement.
- Able to communicate effectively with peers areas of difficulty, able to raise concerns, listen effectively and appreciate constructive criticism.
- dentify and use the most effective means of communication methods, with a variety of health professionals including clinicians, nurses, general managers, AD’s and at times the Chief Operating officer.

- Post holder must be computer literate as access to systems, e.g. PAS, Pathology, PACS are essential in the application of clinical codes: although the specific system training will be given.
