We are seeking enthusiastic, engaging and highly motivated Trainers to join our Epic Training Team.
As a Principal Trainer, you will support the successful adoption of Epic and other digital systems by delivering high-quality training that enables staff to use them confidently and effectively. You will work closely with clinical, operational and digital teams to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
These roles sit within our Inpatients, Outpatients, and Admin & Clerical application areas, with the opportunity to support additional Epic applications and digital projects as required.
Epic Principal Trainer certification is an advantage but not mandatory. We welcome applicants with substantial experience delivering training in clinical or IT settings, including learning design, classroom and virtual delivery, workshop facilitation, and supporting learners with varying digital confidence. Candidates without Epic certification will be supported to achieve it in post. All candidates must have passed the Epic Sphinx test prior to interview.
As part of our transparent interview process, shortlisted candidates will receive the main interview questions at least three days in advance, with follow-up questions asked during the interview. A presentation will also be required.

Key responsibilities include developing training curricula and learning materials, delivering classroom, virtual and blended learning, assessing user competence, and providing expert advice to staff and stakeholders.
Working closely with clinical, operational and digital teams, the post holder will ensure training reflects system developments, organisational priorities and evolving service needs. The role also contributes to training strategy, quality assurance, workflow design, system testing, change management, go-live support, optimisation activities and the successful delivery of large-scale digital transformation programmes.
The post holder will provide leadership and support to trainers, maintain training standards and learning records, oversee training environments, use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement, and act as a senior subject matter expert promoting best practice in digital adoption and system use.

Working for our organisation
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCH) are two of London's largest and busiest teaching hospitals, with a long and proud history, international reputations for their speciality services, teaching and research excellence, and a strong profile of local services to local residents in south east London.
Together the Trusts have an annual turnover of nearly £3bn and employ around 30,000 staff, with main GSTT sites at St Thomas' Hospital and Guy's Hospital, and main KCH sites at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill, the Princess Royal University Hospital, Bromley and Orpington Hospital. The Trusts are key partners within King's Health Partners AHSC (KHP), and Guy's and St Thomas' merged with the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS FT (RBH) in the Spring of 2021.
The two Trusts share a Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) and a vision for digital services that are lean and agile, that maximise the benefits of a shared service operating model, and deliver the digital ambition for both Trusts. This ambition is supported by a forward-looking and strategic approach, and significant investment in a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) which will catalyse a programme of work across both Trusts to transform the way technology and data is used across our services.
