The post holder will work as part of the Pharmacy, Optometry and Dentistry team supporting the management of effective commissioning and performance to ensure the successful delivery of delegated dental commissioning functions, and pharmacy and optometry as required.
The role requires specialist administrative and analytical expertise within dental.
commissioning, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and/or equivalent specialist practical experience, and an in-depth understanding of a range of primary dental commissioning procedures and practices.
This includes the application of primary dental services regulations, NHS contractual frameworks, delegated commissioning arrangements, performance management.
methodologies, and assurance processes, requiring the post holder to exercise specialist knowledge within a defined commissioning discipline to support operational delivery and informed decision-making.
In addition to administrative and coordination support, the role will support the team in managing and processing a number of key provider contracts in this space, as well as developing performance reports and data overviews.
Provide specialist administrative and commissioning support across the Pharmacy, Optometry and Dentistry (POD) portfolio, with particular responsibility for managing the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Restorative Dentistry referral pathway.
The postholder will validate and administer specialist referrals, support contract and financial management processes, analyse performance and activity data, and provide advice and guidance to providers, clinicians and stakeholders. They will support commissioning activities through contract administration, invoice processing, reporting, service improvement initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
The role also includes coordinating meetings, maintaining project and governance documentation, supporting financial processes, and contributing to the planning, development and delivery of commissioned services across the POD portfolio.
