Physiotherapy Assistant
Lewes and Newhaven MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy
We are looking to recruit a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our friendly and supportive MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy team based in Lewes and Newhaven. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop their skills in a healthcare setting. You will work alongside experienced physiotherapists, supporting patients throughout their rehabilitation and helping them achieve their individual goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with patients and colleagues every day. If you enjoy helping people, are eager to learn, and thrive as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.
This role involves working closely with physiotherapists and our Band 4 Technical Instructor to support patients throughout their rehabilitation following injury or surgery. You will work with individuals on a one-to-one basis and, as patients progress, support them in group exercise sessions within a gym or class environment. Full training will be provided, including a competency-based framework to develop your skills in exercise progression and support to complete the Trust Care Certificate. Strong communication skills, empathy, resilience, and the ability to remain calm and adaptable in changing situations are essential, alongside a positive and proactive approach to new challenges.
The role also offers a varied workload, including providing administrative support, coordinating local ordering processes, liaising with clinical teams, and helping to maintain departmental supplies and equipment. You will support departmental health and safety activities, audits, and the smooth day-to-day running of the service. Ongoing local training and competency-based development opportunities will be provided to help you build the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the role and contribute effectively to the wider physiotherapy team.
