Job overview
Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days a week on site at Edward Jenner Court, Gloucestershire, or project based site within Gloucestershire.
This Senior Project Manager post is an exciting opportunity to co-ordinate projects for the Trust and is part of the busy Digital Services Department. We are particularly seeking candidates with experience of delivering digital improvements with a highly technical background and experience in programmes of work, including upgrades, replacements MACs within infrastructure-related transformation across complex operational environments.
Digital Services lead on digital strategy, development, co-ordination, planning, project and programme management for all IT and Digital supporting functions. This includes the delivery of enabling digital infrastructure requirements that support wider organisational programmes, such as data centre migration, end points, wireless, LAN, WAN and associated dependencies.
The successful candidate will be confident working across multi disciplinary digital and clinical system teams, translating operational requirements into practical delivery plans and ensuring that IT dependencies, technical specifications and service continuity considerations are effectively managed.
Advert
Lead and manage projects and organisational change initiatives from inception to closure, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, quality standards, timescales and benefits. Provide expert project and change management support, managing risks, issues, dependencies and interrelated projects throughout the lifecycle.
Work collaboratively with IT Services, senior managers and stakeholders to define scope, objectives, deliverables, resource requirements and success criteria aligned to organisational priorities.
Produce regular project and technical reports for Executive Teams, Project Boards and governance groups. Maintain accurate project documentation and SharePoint repositories in line with agreed standards.
Present complex and sensitive information to support organisational change and new ways of working.
Coordinate project resources, including staff, contractors, consultants and specialist support. Recommend additional resources where required and oversee workload management and performance.
Negotiate stakeholder commitment, balance competing priorities and resolve complex issues. Support transition into Business as Usual through the implementation of appropriate processes, policies and governance arrangements.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the Trust's Digital Services team, responsible for leading and delivering complex IT, digital transformation, infrastructure and system implementation projects across the organisation.
Digital Services provides leadership for digital strategy, planning, programme and project management, IT operations, contract management, technical infrastructure and digital service development. The role is particularly suited to candidates with experience delivering complex technical programmes including cloud and platform migrations, network and connectivity upgrades, server technologies, identity and access management, end-user computing, technical infrastructure deployment and service transition.
Working closely with the Head of Digital Transformation, the post holder will lead project delivery across technical, operational and supplier teams, translating business requirements into practical delivery plans while managing technical dependencies, cyber security, systems integration, testing, business continuity and service transition requirements.
The post holder will provide project leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement and real-time communications relating to the status of digital projects across the Trust.

Responsible for planning, delivering and managing digital and IT projects across the Trust, coordinating internal resources, suppliers and third-party contractors to achieve agreed objectives, timescales, quality standards and benefits. The role includes responsibility for governance, resource planning, financial oversight and change management.
Key Responsibilities
Project and Change Management
- Lead projects and organisational change initiatives from inception through to closure.
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, success criteria and governance arrangements.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and communication strategies.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, critical paths and project interdependencies.
- Establish quality standards and ensure delivery against agreed outcomes.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, reports and governance papers.
- Monitor progress against milestones and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Develop contingency plans and manage changes in scope.
- Coordinate transition into Business as Usual (BAU), including process redesign, benefits realisation and operational handover.

Stakeholder and Communication Management

Resource and Financial Management
- Determine resource requirements and coordinate project teams, workstreams, suppliers and contractors.
- Manage and monitor workloads, performance and project delivery resources.

- Negotiate release of operational staff to support project activity.
- Manage project budgets and provide recommendations regarding financial adjustments and investment decisions.

Governance and Reporting
- Produce project, technical and performance reports for Project Boards, Executive Teams and organisational governance groups.
- Maintain accurate project records and SharePoint documentation.
- Develop reporting frameworks, KPIs and success measures.
- Ensure compliance with Trust, NHS and regulatory requirements.
- Support policy development and implementation where new ways of working are introduced.
Information Governance and Security
The post holder will:
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, staff and organisational information.
- Ensure compliance with Information Governance, Clinical Governance and Data Protection requirements.
- Support secure storage, management and disposal of information in accordance with NHS policies.
- Promote safe and appropriate use of Trust equipment and systems.
Communication and Working Relationships
The post holder will:

Working Conditions and Effort
The role requires prolonged use of computer systems, often maintaining concentration while managing multiple priorities, interruptions and competing demands.
Regular travel throughout Gloucestershire and to external locations may be required. Occasional access to technical environments, communications rooms and equipment locations may be necessary.
The post holder may be required to manage staff performance, conduct and wellbeing matters in accordance with Trust policies.
