We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and innovative Band 7 Colorectal Bowel Dysfunction Specialist Nurse or Physiotherapist to join our dynamic colorectal service. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work autonomously whilst being part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of bowel dysfunction conditions.

The post holder will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with complex bowel dysfunction, including faecal incontinence, obstructive defaecation, functional bowel disorders and pelvic floor dysfunction. Working in an outpatient clinic, you will lead specialist clinics, support service development, and contribute to improving patient outcomes and experience.

As an advanced practitioner within the service, you will act as a key resource for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, providing specialist advice, education and support. You will work collaboratively with colorectal surgeons, gastroenterologists, pelvic floor teams, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based care and optimise treatment pathways.

The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for service improvement and innovation. You will have experience managing patients with bowel dysfunction and be confident in autonomous decision-making, care planning and coordinating complex patient pathways.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to research, audit, education and quality improvement initiatives, helping to shape and develop the future delivery of bowel dysfunction services.
