Advert
As a Band 7 Paediatric OT, you will use your specialist clinical knowledge & experience to deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment & intervention to children & young people across a range of settings & needs.
You will work autonomously across schools, children’s centres, nurseries, homes & clinics, often as a lone worker. Confidence in autonomous practice, safe lone working & managing a varied caseload is therefore essential.
You will use your clinical reasoning to develop & deliver clear, goal-focused care plans, with concise & comprehensive documentation demonstrating your assessment, clinical reasoning & decision-making.

Working collaboratively is central to this role. You will work alongside children, young people & their families, education & social care colleagues, & a broad multidisciplinary team to provide a joined-up approach around the child and family. Safeguarding will remain central to all aspects of your practice.
As a Band 7, you will lead, support & develop others, providing supervision, training & guidance to junior staff & contributing to the quality of care delivered. You will also contribute proactively to service development, identifying opportunities to improve practice & support the continued development of the OT service.

This provides strong representation of our profession at all levels, both strategically & operationally. Personal & professional development is a high priority for the profession & is underpinned by our OT R&D strategy, R&D specialist groups & OT clinical networks. This enables us to invest in the development of our staff through excellent internal training, specialised external training & quality supervision. Our commitment to research, audit & evidence-based practice is supported by strong links with local universities.
We recognise that Band 7s play an important role in providing clinical leadership within our teams, supporting leadership and management activities alongside their clinical responsibilities.
