Dental Training Coordinator/Administration - Band 5 - Permanent (Full-time)
An opportunity has arisen for the above post to manage and support Medical & Dental Education Training Programme based at Kings College Hospital.
The post holder will provide technical and administrative support to a team of dental educational leads, trainees, and dental programme director.
The post will suit individuals who are used to and enjoy working in busy, client-facing environments. And also those who are able to work autonomously and independently with a well-developed sense of responsibility. A flexible approach is essential for this role to support out of hours activities.
The post holder will also act as a team leader for an established team of administrators to support the operational activities within the post graduate medical centre and will work closely with the Medical & Dental Education Manager to deliver a robust Medical and Dental Education framework.
This post offers the opportunity to work with medical and dental healthcare professionals and other multidisciplinary staff. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication as well as advanced computer and audio-visual skills.
Knowledge of working with dental simulation manikins is an advantage as would previous time work in a hospital environment or skills centre.

Financial Management
- Provide reports related to the financial management of training delivered by HEE within Kings College Hospital.
- Raise Purchase Orders for speakers on HEE Courses.
- Manage stock levels within an agreed budget, ensuring adequate stock is available for course delivery.
Administration

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
General Duties

- Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of staff, speakers and delegates.
This job description outlines the current main responsibilities of the post. However, the duties of the post may change and develop over time and may therefore be amended in consultation with the post the MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Dental Education Programmes and act up as a team leader within the PGMC administrative team to provide operational support in the PGMC as and when required.
- Establish and maintain a database of dental training programme trainees (including Foundation and Core Dental trainees)
- Maintain and develop a database for postgraduate dentists requiring access to Section 63 CPD courses using systems provided by Shared Services
- Provide administrative support to the regional Training Programme Director as required and when required.
- Assist in the identification and support of educational and clinical supervisors
- Organise the delivery of innovative training for dentists undertaking training programmes through the development of simulation courses
- Act as a key point of contact for the Associate Dental Dean and HEE Dental administrative team.
- Ensure all bids for dental courses are on accent in a timely fashion
- Maintain records and monitor the expenditure on training and provide reports as requested by the Medical Education Manager
- Provide additional support within the skills centre co-ordinating hands on courses delivered through the dental skills centre as required
- Co-ordination of the procurement and purchase of resources/equipment spares and consumables for the dental skills centre in line with the specified teaching requirements.
- Ensure the cost effective use of dental simulation equipment and / or spares and consumables needed for the day-to-day running of the suite
- Set up the dental Skills centre for teaching and training as and when required and resetting of the dental skills centre following teaching activities.
- Provide hands on technical support to the dental facilitators in the dental skills centre as and when required and servicng of equipment should be arranged for external company to service/ repair equipment.
- Promote and monitor external training provision for education supervisors to meet the required standards within the programme.
- Design materials and resources to support the work of the training programme directors and educational supervisors.
- Support corporate induction for junior doctors and dental trainees and ensure that managers and trainees are familiar with the requirements for local induction.
- Working with the training programme directors, co-ordinate local training programmes and ensures that the content meets formal curriculum requirements.
- Develop and implement an evaluation process for formal and informal teaching.
- Work collaboratively with Dental Training Programme Director to monitor and record attendance of trainees in all clinical and classroom based training activities and to investigate non-attendance.
- Act as first point of contact for trainees, local training leads and trainers and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Receive complex information from the Health Education England Dental team/Shared Services, ensuring that appropriate action is taken
- Represent the Trust at relevant conferences and meetings, inside and outside of the Trust
- Provide support at educational events and meetings taking place out of hours as required
- Assist in identifying appropriate clinicians to undertake career coaching for dental trainees. Monitor and record processes as and when required.
- Manage a database of study of course expenditure, providing reports as required.
- Support all aspects of course/event marketing, including external advertising as part of the departments aim to income generate
