Snapshot of your day as a pharmacy technician:
It begins with a team huddle. You then manage stock levels, coordinate medication orders, and ensure smooth pharmacy operations. You’re the go-to person for stock inquiries, liaising with Pharmacy Stores and keeping staff updated on inventory.
As the day progresses, you mentor pharmacy technicians, trainees, and assistants, ensuring correct procedures are followed and supporting professional development. Your role is vital in sharing knowledge and maintaining high service standards.
You manage the workflow to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner.
In the afternoon, you work with the Principal Technician to identify improvement opportunities. This could involve reviewing procedures, audits, or policy updates to enhance patient service. Collaboration helps implement solutions to keep the pharmacy running smoothly.
As your shift ends, you review outstanding tasks, update stock records, and ensure everything is in order for the next day. You help organize the pharmacy for success, balancing operational duties with team support.
You will work one weekend every seven weeks (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM) with two associated rest days and participate in late lock-up/bank holiday shifts, ensuring continuous Pharmacy service coverage.
